Calculated for the Ukrainian market: norms verbatim, with an English gloss

• Aisle between racks 800–1200 mm

  НПАОП 0.00-1.75-15 «Правила охорони праці під час вантажно-розвантажувальних робіт» (наказ Міненерговугілля від 19.01.2015 № 21, z0124-15), розділ II, глава 4, п. 18

  Проходи між стелажами та штабелями повинні бути від 0,8 м до 1,2 м залежно від операцій, які виконуються. Проходи між стіною і штабелем повинні бути не менше ніж 1 м.

  Aisles between shelving units and stacks — from 0.8 to 1.2 m depending on the work; between a wall and a stack — at least 1 m.

• Narrowest aisle for people 800 mm

  ДБН В.2.2-43:2021 «Складські будівлі. Основні положення», п. 5.2.2

  Вільна висота проходу в стелажах для пересування людей має становити не менше ніж 2,1 м, а ширина – не менше ніж 0,8 м. При проектуванні шляхів евакуації крізь стелажі, їх ширину слід визначати за 7.3.6 ДБН В.1.1-7.

  Pedestrian aisle within shelving — at least 0.8 m wide with a clear height of at least 2.1 m. If the aisle is an escape route, its width is calculated per cl. 7.3.6 of DBN В.1.1-7 (at least 1.0 m).

• From the vehicle lane to a rack 800 mm

  НПАОП 0.00-1.75-15 «Правила охорони праці під час вантажно-розвантажувальних робіт» (наказ Міненерговугілля від 19.01.2015 № 21, z0124-15), розділ III, глава 13, п. 51

  Рух транспорту в складах, на відкритих площадках і рампах здійснюється в межах транспортних смуг, відповідно до схеми руху, з дотриманням відстаней до стін, колон, устаткування, стелажів і штабелів (не менше ніж 0,8 м).

  Vehicles (trolleys, forklifts) travel in lanes with a distance of at least 0.8 m to walls, columns, equipment and shelving.

  aisle 2400 mm is wider than 0.8–1.2 m (NPAOP 0.00-1.75-15, Sect. II Ch. 4 cl. 18) because vehicles run in it: from the traffic lane to the shelving — at least 0.8 m (Sect. III Ch. 13 cl. 51)

• Main aisle from the door, at least 1000 mm

  ДБН В.1.1-7:2016 «Пожежна безпека об'єктів будівництва. Загальні вимоги», п. 7.3.6

  Висота та ширина шляхів евакуації встановлюється НД відповідно до призначення будинку. При цьому висота шляхів евакуації повинна бути не меншою ніж 2,0 м, а їх ширина – 1,0 м.

  Escape route — width at least 1.0 m, height at least 2.0 m (more specific requirements are in the regulations for the building type).

  Escape routes are not obstructed by furniture and equipment; no wardrobes, coat racks or dryers are placed in exit vestibules.

What is an assumption here

• Pallet jack lane with load: 800 mm in the planner's calculation, which is an assumption and not a norm. On this page it runs from 600 to 1200 mm so you can see its effect.
• The person, the pallet jack, the crates on the shelves and the 3D drive are a model for illustration. Racks and their positions, shelves, aisles and doors come from the calculation.
• The brief is synthetic: height 4.5 m, a 2 m door centred on the west wall, no heating, non-combustible crates at 150 kg per shelf, depth 400 mm, place width 600 mm.

Where the numbers come from

• Each node is calculated by the metalgen planning function, the same one the metalgen plan command calls. Grid: 56 rooms × 25 values = 1400 nodes. Date: 4 November 2026
• The verdict compares the need with the node's maximum. The verify.py script checks a sample of nodes against the plan command and confirms that the verdict matches a real run.
• There is no interpolation: the slider only moves between calculated nodes.

What this page does not promise

• This is not your warehouse: the planner handles columns, gates, radiators and your cargo once you enter them.
• Norms are for Ukraine only. The planner has rules for other markets, but they are not shown here.
• Speed has not been measured on a real device yet.
